3 Minute Postdoc Slam

Q. WHAT IS 3MPS?
- A. It is like an elevator pitch conference for scientists. At 3MPS, you share your research in just 3 minutes using a single static slide. It is one of the hard-learned yet critical skills to sculpt the essence of your research to communicate with the audience with the wide range of expertise and background. It may be intimidating, but the result is rewarding, let alone the cash prizes you can win!
Q. OK, I’M IN! WHAT TO DO?
- A. Great! Have you registered to 3MPS? To participate in the competition, please register at Online registration on or before June 21st mid night (PDT).
Q. I’M INTERESTED, BUT DON’T KNOW WHERE TO START…
- A. First, you should enrol.
- Second, find some tips, such as this.
- Third, past presentations on our YouTube channel, and get inspired. UBC Grads’ Three Minutes Thesis may be helpful to familiarize yourself with the format. Finally, practice with stopwatch!!
Q. I AM A GRAD STUDENT. CAN I ATTEND?
- Although the entry to 3MPS competition is limited to the postdocs, this event is open to students, faculties and anyone who is interested. If you are planning to attend, please RSVP to help us gauge the catering needs.
