Building the Future
February 16, 2018 - 9:30 am - 6:30 pm
This new annual event is designed to showcase the diverse and innovative research of Faculty of Medicine graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and recent senior faculty prize awardees, as well as to provide a venue for the building of new connections and collaborations throughout the Faculty and at all levels.
Building the Future: Faculty of Medicine Research Trainee Day & Lecture Series is slated to occur every Winter Term 2, and will be hosted at regularly rotated Faculty of Medicine sites.
This free event is open to all Faculty of Medicine trainees, faculty, and staff, and will include:
- Lectures from the 2017 Faculty of Medicine Distinguished Research Lecture Awardees
- A Lecture from the 2016 Dr. Chew Wei MBBS [HK] FRCOG [ENG] Memorial Prize in Cancer Research Awardee
- Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Fellow Oral and Poster Presentations
- A Closing Reception and Prizes
Call for Submissions: Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Fellow Oral and Poster Presentations
For research trainees that wish to present their work, please submit an abstract online.
Deadline for trainees to apply to present: Friday, November 17, 2017
Note: Trainees travelling in from outside the GVRD to present their research at Building the Future: Faculty of Medicine Research Trainee Day & Lecture Series are eligible to apply for a small travel stipend. Please write med.research@ubc.ca for more information.
