Paddling for a Cleaner Ocean: What Happened Next?

August 14, 2018 - 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

At the start of May, Lucy Graham and Mathilde Gordon of Passage Adventure launched their sea kayaks from the shores of Juneau in Alaska, beginning a 2,100 km, three-month long journey through the Inside Passage, raising awareness of marine debris along their way. Along the way, they hosted beach cleanups, tracing and stopping the rubbish at its source and raised money for the Tangaroa Blue Foundation and the Living Oceans Society.

During this extraordinary journey they saw countless whales, had a rising tide flood their tent, navigated costal rapids, and met incredible people en route. They pushed themselves mentally and physically, and saw things they never imagined. Join us to find out about how they fared going plastic-free on the trip, what they saw on their remote beach-clean up and what takeaways they have for themselves and fellow ocean champions after completing their adventure.

This event will also be live-streamed and have an ASL interpreter.
