Science Slam

For those of you who have never experienced the wonder of Science Slam, welcome! We are Vancouver’s most epic science showdown. Watch as scientists, students, educators, and communicators battle to share science with their captive audience. What’s on the line? Pride, fame, eternal glory, and occasionally a prize or two.
Our competitors are selected from a slew of applications before our event. Our judges are a mashup of scientists, communicators, and entertainers from Vancouver’s top institutions. Competitors have 5 minutes to present on any science topic without the use of a projector and slides. They are judged on their ability to communicate science in an entertaining and effective way.
Cost is on a sliding scale of $6-$10 cash per person. Tickets are sold at the door only. Seating is limited and on a first come, first served basis so arrive early.
