UBC Chemical and Biological Engineering Research Day

CHBE research day Feb 28

Research Day (February 28th, 2020) is an event for sharing some of the latest scientific and technical contributions in the Chemical and Biological Engineering fields. The CHBE Department opens its doors to scientists, engineers, and industry partners to take part in the event, which includes talks from two distinguished speakers, a graduate and undergraduate research poster competitions and a 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) competition.

 

This year’s guest speakers are:

  • Dr. Jeff Dahn of Dalhousie University, speaking about development in the lithium-ion battery for energy storage.
  • Dr. Pascal Beauchesne, UBC grad and researcher at Sana Biotechnology, speaking about the design of autologous cell therapy process involving car-T cell therapy.

 

Industry Night (February 27th) is a networking event hosted in partnership with the CHBE undergraduate council, which includes an industry mentors panel, a jeopardy quiz game and an open networking session. Participants will include industry professionals, undergraduate and graduate students, and CHBE faculty.

 

The CHBE department will be hosting these events from Feb 27th – 28th, 2020 in the Chemical and Biological Engineering Building.
