Universe of the brain

What does it take to map something as complex as the brain? Journey across the last frontier of health science to learn what magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) reveals about the communication between our cells, the movement of our blood, and how our brains change across our lifespan.

Join leading MRI Physicist Dr. Shannon Kolind from UBC’s MRI Research Centre at the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health and a team of scientists and graduate students from UBC for an evening of lively discussion about navigating the brain’s terrain under state-of-the-art visuals in the Planetarium Star Theatre.

The Universe of the Brain lecture series is a collaboration between The H.R. MacMillan Space Centre and the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health, with support from Neuroethics Canada. Come away with a better understanding of your brain through a dialogue with leading experts on neuroanatomy.

About Our Speakers:
Dr. Shannon Kolind is an MRI Physicist and Assistant Professor at the UBC MRI Research Centre in the Division of Neurology, Department of Medicine.
